As someone who is constantly seeking opportunities for professional development, I have found webinars to be a convenient and cost-effective way to learn new skills and acquire knowledge. Watching a webinar online is a great way to participate in professional development without the need for travel or time away from work. In this blog post, I will share my experience of watching a webinar online, selecting digital materials, modifying and adapting materials to meet my specific needs. With the help of my instructor Cemil Gökhan KARACAN in Open and Distance Learning Course, I have learned all the details and information needed.
Watching a Webinar Online:
The first step in watching a webinar online is to find a topic that interests me. I usually look for webinars that are related to my field of work or that align with my personal interests. There are many webinars available for free, while others require payment or registration. Once I have identified a webinar that meets my needs, I register and receive access information to the online session. On the day of the webinar, I make sure I have a reliable internet connection and a comfortable place to watch. I also test my audio and video settings before the webinar begins to avoid any technical difficulties during the session.
During the webinar, I take notes on important points and concepts that are discussed. I find it helpful to use these notes to reference later or to create my own summary of the webinar for future reference. The webinar topic that I joined for my course was: Simple Teaching Ideas for Online Classes with Primary Children. I really enjoyed the webinar because of the professionalism that was superior. The detailed explaining and how they were talking with passion about teaching.
Selecting Digital Materials:
As a prospective teacher, I understand the importance of selecting appropriate digital materials to engage and inspire my students. With so many digital resources available, it can be challenging to choose materials that are both relevant and effective for teaching. When selecting digital materials, I consider my own learning style and the goals I hope to achieve. As a visual learner, I often focus on slide presentations and diagrams. If I want to apply the concepts discussed in the webinar to my work, I might look for case studies or examples that I can use as a reference.
Modifying and Adapting Materials:
Once I have selected digital materials, I may find that they do not completely meet my needs. It is common to modify and adapt materials to suit my specific goals or learning style. For example, if I find that a slide presentation is difficult to read, I might enlarge the text or change the font to make it more accessible. If I prefer to work with physical materials, I might print out worksheets or other resources and complete them by hand. I also combine materials from different sources to create a customized learning experience. For example, I might combine information from multiple webinars or workshops to create a comprehensive learning package.
In conclusion, watching a webinar online, selecting digital materials, and modifying and adapting materials can be an effective way to acquire new knowledge and skills. By following these steps, I can create a personalized learning experience that meets my unique needs and goals.
